Ask and You Shall Receive, I’ve always loved that scripture. It’s so comforting, isn’t it?
Here’s a meditation for helping you to get insight and clarity when you need it most.
First begin to relax your body with some deep breathing.
Inhale and exhale deeply and fully in and out of your nose.
Then, beginning at the top of your head, bring your attention to the muscles at the top of your head. As you notice them, relax them.
Allow your attention to float down the rest of your body, noticing the muscles in your neck, your shoulders, arms and torso, relaxing the tension wherever you bring your focus. Continue down the rest of your body.
Continue your deep breathing and enjoy your new relaxed state. Remember that insight always comes more readily when the body and mind are relaxed.
Find something to stare at to take your attention off your immediate need or situation. If you can, try to find something in nature to watch. If you’re near a window, stare at a tree, then the branch, then the leaf. Admire it, enjoy it, let go.
Then pose a question to the Source. The first answer you receive will be the right one. You may receive a feeling of guidance, or some type of knowing. You might even hear or feel some type of voice. The voice, the answer that comes back to you, if it is authentic, will not sound or feel like your voice. The energy of it will be kind, peaceful, though possibly insistent.
The answers that most people receive in this exercise are brief, one to two statements, usually. Longer streams of information and feedback typically require for you to be in a meditative state.
Honor the information you receive.

If something interesting were happening in the world and you wanted to know more about it, you would simply sit down, tune in and pay attention. You wouldn’t think of plugging your ears with earbuds, cranking up your iPod, while flipping through a magazine or surfing the internet while the story aired.
